Essence of Coaching is a ‘Level-1’ International Coaching Federation Accredited Coaching Education. This program provides the required Training, Mentoring and Evaluation. On successful completion, you are eligible to apply for the ‘Associate Certified Coach (ACC)’ credential from ICF, subject to fulfilling other ICF requirements.

Curated by Master Certified Coach facilitators, you will explore the principles, methodologies, competencies and the way of being a coach rather than doing coaching. Essence of coaching is an immersive learning experience that is fast paced, reflective, hands-on and intense!

Program objectives:

  • Develop confidence and competence to coach in performance, development and business coaching contexts.

  • Demonstrate coaching competence at the ICF benchmark Associate Certified Coach (ACC) levels.

  • Deepen self-awareness and self-leadership

Coaching Philosophy

The philosophy of human Potential and Resourcefulness guides the Artistry of coaching approach.

The concept of the Life Spiral provides a holistic approach to human development. The Life Spiral is a view of the human being as existing in two environments: internal and external and the dynamic relationship between a person's way of being, beliefs & values, vision & goals, capabilities, actions and outcomes. This serves as a framework to analyze and facilitate change and sustainable growth.

This program is synchronized with the training (60 hours) & mentoring (10 hours) requirements for the ICF ‘Associate Certified Coach’ credential.

 

Virtual-Live, Typical structure:

  • 15 sessions of 2hr 15min to 3 hour duration each across seven weeks

  • 4 Group mentoring sessions (120 min each)

  • 3 Individual mentoring sessions (60 min each)

Unit 1: FOUNDATION

This course lays a strong foundation of understanding the principles, definition, distinctions, history and science of coaching. It also explores the qualities of a coach, the 'LifeSpiral' a holistic concept of human development and the dynamics of change.

Unit 2: SETTING THE STAGE

In this unit, you will learn how to set the stage for an effective coaching relationship. This will cover the ethical guidelines of professional coaching, building rapport and co-creating the coaching agreements with the client and the way of being ‘present’ as a coach to facilitate the client's learning.

Unit 3: GOAL SETTING

In this unit, you will learn powerful goal setting methodologies. The distinction between different types of goals, the admissibility criteria for goals, how to elicit the evidence for goal achievement and how to create an effective coaching plan is covered here.

Unit 4: THE COACHING MODEL

In this unit, you will learn the structure for holding a coaching conversation that is both effective and efficient. How to establish a client defined agenda, facilitate the client's awareness, creativity and resourcefulness to explore possibilities and solutions, design effective actions to reach the goal and to integrate the client's learning from the session are covered here.

Unit 5: LISTENING AND RESPONDING

In this unit, you will learn effective ways of listening as a coach. The different types of listening, how to expand your listening and the different types of responses that maximizes the client's learning and awareness are explored here.

Unit 6: POWERFUL QUESTIONING

In this unit, you will learn how to birth and ask questions that spark awareness, learning, insights or solutions within the client. The power of questions to create awareness, the characteristics that makes it powerful, the types of questions, the solution focused intention behind questions and the elements that create traction are explored here. The concept of 'thinking space' provides useful framework to analyse and ask powerful questions.

Unit 7: FACILITATING INSIGHTS AND SOLUTIONS (Part-1)

In this unit, you will learn how to facilitate insights and solutions. The importance of surfacing solutions and learning from the client's conscious and the subconscious intelligence and a range of tools, thinking frameworks and processes are explored and applied in this unit.

Unit 8: ICF CORE COMPETENCIES (ACC level of proficiency)

In this unit, you will explores the ICF core competencies descriptions in letter and spirit.  You will learn how to demonstrate the professional competencies of coaching and self assess your growing capabilities and journal your development as a coach.
